Rafael Nadal has reached the final of the 2022 Roland-Garros tournament after third seed Alexander Zverev suffered a horrific-looking ankle injury during their semi-final match on Friday.
Nadal won the first set 7-6 (8) in a tie-break, and was leading 6-6 in the second set when Zverev twisted his ankle while chasing a drop shot.
The German received medical attention on court and attempted to continue playing, but was unable to put any weight on his ankle and was forced to retire.
Nadal will now face either Casper Ruud or Marin Cilic in the final on Sunday.
